This large, water green ceramic cut is signed white Letalle for Saint Clément. Openwork, it has the effects of half-relief interlacing. Decorative and of a beautiful presence, it is expressed in an art deco aesthetic, faithful to the proposals of the ceramist. The object is particularly decorative, but it can also be used in fruit cups, storage space or centerpiece.
The cut is beautiful, a few traces of friction and scratches are visible. The room carries the acronym of Saint Clément and the signature of Blanche Letalle.
34cm in diameter, 5.5cm high.
In the wind of modernity that animates the 1950s and 60s, potters and ceramists are not outdone! They invent and reinvent the forms of terracotta objects, play on the composition of enamels to obtain new colors or textures. The Lorraine earthenware of Saint Clément is linked to that of Lunéville. In Lunéville is produced of fine, often usual and classic earthenware, services and patterns. Meanwhile, Saint Clément invents shapes and colors. In the second half of the 20th century, Jacques Roux and Blanche Lettale will explore the stylistic possibilities of earthenware. In a stripped and innovative style, the latter will offer vases with organic forms, with often monochrome or two -color enamels. This piece has an attribution mark,
