The Jucker table lamp incarnates and clearly explicit the spirit of the sixties and still today is a charismatic collector's object, coveted as when it was presented for the first time in 1963.
Only 21 centimeters tall, the table lamp is made up of base and ninth -alive metal lampshade, painted from top to bottom in a multiplicity of colors that went from emerald green to red, from black to black, in perfect harmony with the color palette Strong in vogue in that decade.
from the base the design rises voluminous upwards
The domed lamp that dominates the lamp is fixed to a swivel pivot that allows you to move it around the light bulb
from this point of view, the external appearance of the Jucker could make it assimilated to an sleepy eye: the lampshade is a sort of eyelid which, weighed down by sleep, closes over the light bulb, the eyeball. Of particular relevance, therefore, is the ingenious system of the inclinable lampshade: it moves around the light bulb, allowing to vary the amount of light on a staircase ranging from a simple low lighting when the lampshade is lowered, to a strong lighting when The lampshade is raised at its maximum opening point.
In 1962 Tobia Scarpa had associated himself with Pier Giacomo Castiglioni as designer for Flos, the leading lighting company already then of the market of lighting products.
Scarpa continued to work for Flos for all the sixties and part of the seventies, perfecting the design that adopted the recent halogen lighting technology.
Unfortunately, the Jucker was removed from production in 1995, following substantial changes in the Flos catalog.
