This is a set of 2 French Art Deco music hall program covers that date to 1922-23. They are quite beautiful and detailed Art Deco designs by 2 leading illustrators of the time. Charles Gesmar, was a well known designer of costumes and posters of the Jazz Age in Paris whose works are highly collectible and auctioned at major international art galleries. Vladimir Barjansky was a Russian born artist who worked in Paris in the first decades of the 20th century and was known for his energetic visual pictorial images for music halls. These images are both signed and dated by the illustrators. Both have classic Art Deco elements and styling. These are extremely hard to find with the passage of time as they are fragile and small. They have good color and are in clean excellent condition. They were never meant to be saved as illustrative art. The Gesmar image has an indentation on the outside left edge from a staple that was removed. (This will not show when framed as shown in picture 2.) They measure 5.5 x 7.25 inches in size. Together they make a wonderful visual statement for your wall décor. See less
