Painted on textile, these intricate and very finely painted scenes feature children playing games, fishing, and wandering the gardens of a palace complex. The gouache painting style is just like that of Chinese hand painted wallpaper, but is all the more impressive on the textured linen-ilke ground. The textile has an integral woven border that enhances the double matting and nice framing. Very good condition with artisanal irregularities as made. 20th century.
