It appears to be in original condition with no evidence of any alterations or even polishing of the brass. All of the brass frame was originally coated with lacquer over the polished surface which is still observable today. Has a lovely aged warm antique patina over much of it and would hate to alter what age has so masterfully enhanced its overall appearance. Will leave whether or not to polish up to the purchaser. What sets this one apart from others listed on the Internet is the Onyx bottom surface on the inside of the magazine storage compartment. Others available only have an Onyx handle with the compartment storage floor being one of brass only. The sides of the rack are the original green tinted smoked glass panel held in place by brass brackets. What a beautiful addition to almost any interior design style room. less
