There is a popular Chinese legend about a group of koi fish that swim upstream in the Yellow River.

After swimming for many years, they reach a waterfall known as the Dragon's Gate.

However, this waterfall is said to be impossible to pass.

Some of the koi fish give up and turn back, but the others continue to swim upstream.

Crossing the Dragon's Gate proved to be a challenge as the koi fish had to battle the strong currents.

But with perseverance and determination, they made it to the top of the waterfall.

The koi fish that are able to jump over the waterfall are transformed into dragons.

Years later, this legend would be used as a metaphor for people who overcome great obstacles to achieve their goals.
