Joe DiMaggio, New York Yankees, Baseball interest, super original 1st edition Gionathan de Pas & Donato D’Urbino & Paolo Lomazzi for Poltronova Italy circa 1970, Black Leather 'Joe' Armchair designed in 1970 and inspired by the Pop Art Movement, the Joe armchair forms part of the permanent collection at MOMA (Museum of Modern Art) in New York, the iconic Joe armchair design is now considered a 20th century classic, based on a baseball glove and featuring the characteristic leather lace and leather webbing between the thumb and index finger of a baseball mitt, the armchair was made as a homage to the legendary American baseball player Joseph (Joe) DiMaggio (November 25, 1914 – March 8, 1999), nicknamed "Joltin' Joe", "The Yankee Clipper" and "Joe D.", an American Baseball Centre Fielder who played his entire 13-year career in Major League Baseball for the New York Yankees, Joe was briefly married to Marilyn Monroe, embossed Poltronova and Star to side of chair, the chair has four castors to the base making moving easier, a worthy addition to any serious chair collection, reserve now..
