Stefano Bicini was born in Italy in 1957 and passed away from AIDS in 2003 in Austria. He studied first at the Academy of Fine Arts in Perugia and then in 1980 moved to New York where his talent was recognized by many of his peers. Bicini has many solo shows. At the peak of the HIV AIDS crisis, Bicini became deeply involved with Visual AIDS, an organization which utilizes art to fight AIDS by provoking dialog “supporting HIV and artists and preserving a legacy because AIDS is not over.”
After nearly 20 years in New York, Bicini. Returned to Europe where he died in 2003. less
