This beautifully patinated old teak wood chest would have been used as a storage cabinet in a rural Javanese home. Today it would make a great conversation piece as a coffee table, an end table paired with the other chest, or a unique storage chest stacked above the other matching chest.

The trunk has a rectangular top over three foliate carved drawers on bracket feet with gilt-decorated foliage carving. The top appears to have been refinished, the front of the chest has its original color. Drawers have dovetail construction. The side brass handles and the drawer pulls are original and appear to be very old. Drawer locks have been replaced and are inoperable.

Condition: The chest is solid and is in good condition. Skirt is a bit loose.
