The … Read more This well-modeled miniature figure of a mother and child came from Côte d'Ivoire and was made by the Baule. The Baule people art one of the largest ethnic groups in Côte d'Ivoire and they have played a central role in the twentieth-century history of the country. The tradition of bronze cast figures is found among a number of different peoples of Western central Africa including the Dogon, Bozo, and the various groups of Burkina Faso. This sculpture reflects the artistry of Baule blacksmiths. See less
