Football standing made of wood with 6 arms structure and with decorative shaft composed of a series of original spherical and volumetric shapes. The lamp follows the typical lamppost design and was made in the 50s or 60s of Sigo XX. It is completely painted in a dark or scarlet red tone. The application of the paint has been carried out in a very handmade way, leaving aesthetically visible, the textures of the original wood structure. The fine and subtle curvilinear arms hold the 6 tulip in the form of an opaline balloon. More pronounced is the structure of the lamp staff, which is formed by a succession of geometric shapes that alternate and provide a very specific rhythm to the supporting arm. Likewise, concave and convex forms are combined throughout the piece and the base of the set. In the upper part, it has a kind of decorative hook in gold -hoop -shaped steel. This lamp is the final detail that will give an authentic light and touch anywhere where you put it.
About the decapé.
This technique that partially exposes the material is known as decapé, a type of decorative painting that consists in similar the elimination of the painting of an surface so that it seems that it has been removed or removed by the passage of time. When opting for a furniture, part of the existing paint layer with a sandpaper is removed, so that the anterior layer is seen or directly the wood. To achieve this upper effect, the previous color must be discovered in the last layer of applied paint. Therefore, to achieve the age of the object, two colors are necessary: the base color and the finishing color. First, the plastic paint layer must be applied to the wood surface and let it dry. The next step, before applying the second layer, consists of a sanding (using a thick sandpaper) of the furniture, allowing the color of the wood to emerge at some points. After this, it is necessary to spend a second time a fine sandpaper to smooth the surface of the object. Finally, a last layer of varnish should be applied, thus also providing a certain shine.
