Pair Chinese export porcelain figures of Monkeys holding peaches. Expressive facial features. Modeled in mirror image, each seated atop a pink and green enameled rockwork base, the monkeys smiling and holding a peach, their fur picked out in tones of sepia.
The monkey of Chinese folklore steals the peach of immortality from the Gods - a well-loved story from popular Chinese opera. Each measures 8 1/8" tall x 4 1/4" wide x 3 1/2" deep. Good condition.
