The heavy ceramic molded vase has a pleasing wide mouth and shoulder tapering to a smaller foot. One side has a molded feather design. The glaze is thick and unctuous, with a soft feel.

The foot ring is unglazed and shows the yellow clay. There are no marks or labels. It has the production number 102 stamped into the base clay.

MEASUREMENTS

5” (12.7cm) diameter x 8 ¼” (21.0 cm) tall. Weighs 2 lbs 11.3 oz (1230 g)

CONDITION

There are no breaks, chips, or cracks. There are a few dark scuff marks and wear scratches. There are a couple of red spots just below the shoulder that doesn’t wash off. There are kiln flaws like reserves, pinholes, and bumps. One pinhole near the foot is a bit larger than typical but is a kiln flaw and not a chip.

This matte burgundy glaze would fit well with any Arts & Crafts decor. Or in any Zen-inspired setting. less
