This is for an amazing British Vintage Crystal Chalice Claret Jug with a Sterling Silver Neck and handle, from the J.A. Campbell of London Company. This Claret Jug / Decanter measures: 12.5 inches tall x 6 inches wide on the handle side x 5 inches deep. The piece sits on a large round crystal foot and has an egg shaped stopper. There are no chips or cracks on the pieces and the stopper is in wonderful condition. There is one small area of surface scratches noted in pics with an arrow near the label.
**The piece has an inscription of - 15.11.06 AVIVA 31.12.09 I am unsure but Aviva is an insurance company in London which lines up with the item being crafted in the United Kingdom. There is also an etched name of Dartington on the bottom of the foot.
The JA Campbell Silversmiths was established in 1890 in Brentwood UK. The company produces exclusive, luxury quality silver products for special gifts and occasions.
This Decanter / Jug and stopper barware item is a rare find and very collectible. It will make a lovely addition to any special collection of vintage barware. The sterling is marked on the side with the 925 (% of sterling silver) and other stamps that include a walking lion (means made in England), JAC (company initials), a leopard head and a k (This dates the piece to 2009). There is still part of the original Makers sticker on the item.
The collectible piece will surely be loved for years to come.
Majority of my items for sale are pre-loved treasures that were most likely purchased at a local Estate Sale or a local resale shop in Arizona. I may or may not know details but do spend time researching information to provide details the best I can and to pass along fair prices.
* I take all my own pictures in my home and as such try and get all the colors as true to correct as possible.
* The items in the pictures are the exact item you will be receiving, unless I have multiple of the same item and the quality will be the exact same as the ones pictured.
* I take great care in packaging items correctly and shipping on time. I show any imperfections I can in the pictures.
* Assume items are preloved and or vintage and such can have its own idiosyncrasies due to age alone and normal wear and tear.
* Please contact me if you have specific questions.
Thank you for looking!!
