The exterior of the napkin rings and the box is a type of sisal rope woven with shiny gold ribbon. The interior is a blue satin-type material. All the napkin rings are in great shape, and one of the coolest parts of this set is the matching box! Possibly made in Japan, however no marks on the set. See less
