This engraving by Piranesi (1720-1778) depicts ornate elements of architecture. Some of his work was imaginary, but Piranesi’s passion was to glorify the architecture of Ancient Rome. He was born to a stone mason and trained as an architect. After a slow start, he experienced success. This print is framed and archivally presented.
This print is in good original condition. There is foxing along the left margin and the bottom of the page. There is some staining and toning, but the images are not obscured. There is also a crease from a fold where the page was extracted from a folio.
