Superb Japanese-style fireplace mirror in lacquered wood, carved with an imposing dragon and decorative motifs.
Japonism, France, circa 1880.
Attributed to Gabriel Viardot (1830-1904), famous Parisian cabinetmaker specializing in the production of "Chinese-Japanese" furniture. He distinguished himself on several occasions at the Universal Exhibitions of 1867, 1878, 1889 and 1900, during which he received several medals.
In very good condition, restored, some signs of wear.
