Rare set of seven Italian iron patio and garden lounge chairs and ottomans designed by Mario Papperzini for John Salterini. The Mid-Century Modern garden suite consists of three armchairs with adjustable reclining backs, two non-reclining back side chairs and two ottomans. One ottoman has tall gilt finials, the other does not. The tall ottoman with finials can also be used as a side drinks table by adding a pane of glass to the top. The iconic chairs have the classic woven lattice inset seats and gold finials on the chair backs. The armchairs have a generous seat with flat arms and chain adjustable backs. The frames have a hand-hammered finish on the legs with an aged patina on the older finishes. The arm rests measure 20 inches high on the armchairs. From an estate in Beverly Hills, CA. "Italy Made" stamp on leg as seen in photos. All cushions have been re-upholstered in performance fabric. More photos are available upon request.
