MORNING GLORY
Two 9-3/8-inch Luncheon Plates
"Shenandoah Ware"
A set of two very pretty round luncheon plates from Paden City Pottery in the pattern "Morning Glory." The design features large red and blue morning glories, with yellow centers and green vines, on a "Shenandoah Ware" shape. They measure 9-3/8 inches wide across the middle of the rim.
These plates are in very good condition, with light utensil marks and no crazing or cracks. The decal design shows a bit of bubbling (uneven application) on both plates (see closeup photos), but this is under the glaze and original to manufacture. One plate has a very small glaze pop or fleabite on the rim edge (see photo with red arrow).
The plates are marked on the backside with a Paden City Pottery logo, with: "Shenandoah Ware | The Paden City Pottery Co. | Under Glaze | D-48-D [or C-48-K on the second plate]." less
