Stunning vintage Regency style Drexel black & gold detailed drop leaf rolling server, dry bar, or beverage cart. Beautiful condition, keeping in mind that this is vintage and not new so will have signs of use and wear. We have touched up some minor nicks & dings but otherwise has beautiful original patina. Talk about the Rolls Royce of Rolling Carts!! WOW!! This is a wonderful drop leaf server, dry bar cart, or beverage server by Drexel! It is comprised of black painted wood frame with an over-all purposeful patina, gold details and floral décor on each drop leaf. The drop leaf is awesome as it gives you the option to use it with both leaves up, both down, or one side up and one down. It has lovely faux bamboo spacers between the bar top and lower floating cabinet. The cabinet has 2 large full length drawers featuring Federal style shield escutcheons with bail handles. The top drawer is divided in half with wood spacers and felt lined for silverware. Tt stands on straight tapered square legs with casters and it is finished all around so it can float beautifully in any room. It has adequate room for all your beverage and serving supplies. It is a perfect way to offer your favorite cocktails. But if you prefer, you can load it with tea and desserts, coffee and donuts, or milk and cookies! Quite frankly it’s stunning just sitting there empty. And it’s so convenient! Drexel Furniture Company was founded in 1903 in Drexel, North Carolina by six businessmen for a total investment of $14,000.00. Sam Huffman, one of the initial founders, managed the enterprise until his death in 1935 when his son, Robert O. Huffman took the helm. By 1950 under the younger Huffman’s leadership Drexel had grown from a small factory to a leader in furniture manufacturing. They acquired other furniture companies along the way and by the late 1950s employed 2300 workers. The 1960s had them adding industrial and hospitality furniture to their lines. In 1968 they were purchased, and Drexel Enterprises became Drexel Heritage Furnishings, Inc. They continued to add to their styles and lines and were sold again and then in 1986 became part of Masco Corporation one of the country’s largest furniture manufacturers. They are now based in High Point, NC and operate ten factories in North Carolina and one in South Carolina and are one of the leading furniture manufacturers in the world.
