These pieces, commonly known as "Welsh dressers" were a necessity of the 19th and early 20th century English kitchen or dining room. There were no pantries or other storage to speak of in the average English country home of the era~~just what you would expect to see in the downstairs kitchen on Downton Abbey!

BEAUTIFUL mahogany banding and shell marquetry inlays on drawers and cabinet doors~~sturdy Georgian cabriole legs and pad feet~~upper open shelves are 4" deep with inlaid plate stops~~proudly display your favorite Imari, Staffordshire or Majolica plates~~lower drawers with original brass "batwing" style hardware for ample storage~~original keys included

Original paper tag on back that reads "Copplestone, Unsworth & Co Ltd Deposities, Liverpool (est. 1835) "
