Pleasing old surface. The artist has painted the shadows onto the wood support. Light weight. Measures 14" x 12" x 13.75" tall. Good condition - a few stable cracks to the figure. Displays well.

Prince graduated from Colby College (BA) and Columbia University (MA) and spent a Fulbright year creating sculpture in Italy. Widely collected, he exhibited throughout Maine, New England, and New York. His contribution to the Whitney Museum of American Art Biennial in 1960 was praised by New York Times art critic John Canady as a “small, complicated, beautifully ordered bronze.”

For many years Prince taught art – first as director of the sculpture department at Silvermine School of Art in New Canaan, Connecticut and later as director of the Wooster Community Art Center in Danbury. less
