Fine set of 3 John A Dunn oak dining chairs from 1905-20s reglued but not refinished - they retain original patina and normal signs of domestic use to outer frames. Simple and sweet style of Queen Anne is present in vasiform back splat, turned-out knees atop curved front legs ending in a softly shaped trifid foot.
Bearing label of John A. Dunn Company - Chairs and Rattan Products. There is an interesting read on John Ainsworth Dunn and his furniture empire on the wiki - go see! Inner upholstered pad frame or "drop-in" seat has been restored and reupholstered. Longevity and sustainability is top of mind when I restore/reupholster and is evident in materials I choose. Stripped of old covering and broken straw, new webbing was applied, topped with pressed coconut mat (a natural fiber pad vs petrol chem foam) and 2 layers organic cotton batting, topped with Lee Jofa Crillon Linen 2011136.
Fabric was trade-ordered with Nanotex treatment to provide moisture barrier, resistant to soil and stains. These pads will look natural and beautiful for years to come. less
