This is an extraordinary example of Spanish glazed, hand-painted earthenware made in Talavera de la Reina, Toledo (Spain.) Arabs brought to the city new techniques, including a new kind of oven for baking pottery.
The white underglaze is decorated in brilliant garlands of yellow and blue flowers.
Standing 11 1/4" tall, the striking pitcher is 7 1/2" at its widest and has a 4 1/4" footprint.
The piece will be double boxed for safety.
