Who? Who? Who, wouldn't love this mid-century golden owl statue? This wonderfully wise figure by the Progressive Art company is dated 1967, and exudes the glam sensibility that is so iconic of the sixties. The owl is in wonderful condition for the age, and is clearly signed. The light-teal eyes are still vibrant in color and are beautifully contrasted with the antique golden color of the intricate feather patterns, and the large scale is quite impressive. This may have been the inspiration for the mechanical magic owl in the film Clash of the Titans. In any case, this titan-sized treasure deserves to be on display.
