The rattan is actually woven around a sturdy metal frame which provides stability and has kept this vintage piece looking its best. The gold ball tips on the feet appear to be metal but are actually rubber. The cushion is in the original nubby neutral wool blend fabric but would be wonderful redone in a tropical print or jewel tone raw silk....adding a back cushion might also be nice. Marked 'Typhoon' with a label to the underside.

Very good condition with some smudge marks to the rattan at the back of the chair, please see photographs 10 and 11. The swivel works well but is tight which can actually be a plus to keep family and guests from treating it like a carnival ride. Perfect as is but would look great with new fabric for the cushion and the addition of a back cushion.

The chair measures 53.5" tall at the back 25.5" wide at the front arms and 27" deep from the front to the back of the hood. The seat measures 16.5" tall from the floor to top of cushion and 12.75" tall without the cushion. It is 21" wide and sits 21" deep (unless you add a back cushion). The arm height is 20.5" from the floor up. The swivel base is 21" diameter. See less
