A fabulous mid-century Italian two-tier rich red coloured parchment vellum and gilt metal drinks trolley, designed by Aldo Tura (1909–1963). Labelled: Tura Milano. Circa 1950's.
Aldo Tura began manufacturing his signature furniture in the 1930s. Working between the idioms of Art Deco and modernism, Tura created singular, high-end furniture and accessories that were typified by rich materials, sculptural forms and artisanal techniques. He favoured intricate, complex forms and labour-intensive processes that could never by replicated in a large-scale factory system. He is recognized as being one of the most original and important artisans of the Italian post-war design movement.
The trolley has drop sides with galleries, the under tier has a bottle rack and gallery. There are two neat metal pull-outs to hold the sides open, these have wooden ends. The undersides of the leaves are also finished with a polish.
There is some gilt loss and rubbing to the gilt finish around the table, mainly to the handles and gallery and the hooded castors. The lacquer has a lovely shine, but shows hairlines to the main table and lower tier, also with a dent to one leaf, as well as some age related wear.
The rubber wheels are considerably worn, being flat. The trolley will not be mobile. Please refer to the photographs.
The table top is 66cm high, the overall height is 74cm. The table is 45cm wide when the leaves are not in use. The table top's depth is 75cm, the total depth is 80cm. This piece has an attribution mark,

Orders where Free Local Pickup or Seller Managed Local Delivery were selected:
- Upon inspection, If you decide not to move forward with the purchase, you or your agent must refuse the item at the time of pickup/delivery from the seller
- Once you have taken possession of the item, all sales are final
- International, cross-border returns may require different processes depending on the countries between which the item is shipping to/from, and the buyer is responsible and duties (if applicable, on cross-border orders).
- On approved returns, the buyer is responsible for the full cost of return packing and shipping.
Cancellations

- Chairish Freight Delivery
