A serpentine face of compound curves harmonizes the mass and provides a rhythmic wave for this elegant and sculptural credenza. The sleek and fluid face belies a lightness of form while concealing substantial storage. Three drawers provide storage for silver and tableware while the four individual door cabinets provide discreet storage for fine china and tableware. Drawing form from a blending of Sheraton bow-front and serpentine cabinets, this particular design is adaptive of a design from a Russian 18th Century piece likely produced for the British architect Charles Cameron for Pavlosk palace. A ebony cartouch centers the center drawer and provides a center of unity for what is an exquisitely proportioned and important case for a dining room or a hall.
