The Pop Art poster print is published by The Nassau County Museum of Art, Roslyn Harbor New York, printed in 2003 in an unnumbered limited edition with the licensed authorized rights of The Andy Warhol Foundation for Visual Arts on the occasion of the " A Century of Prints : 1900 - 2000 " exhibition. It features an iconic portrait artwork image of actress Marilyn Monroe originally created by Warhol in 1967 titled " Marilyn ", courtesy Dr. Harvey Manes, copyright The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts / ARS. New York.

Andy Warhol ( 1928 - 1987 ) is one of the singularly most well known Contemporary artists of all time. His imagery is recognized worldwide. His infamous life, artworks, and creative endeavors are like no other artist. He is credited as the very first artist to use common everyday objects and view them in a completely different way while paying homage to their role in our society. Glorifying the common as the beautiful. His technique utilizing a silkscreen method combined with hand finishing in a signature palette of vibrant color hues make the work stand on its own and loved by millions.
Warhol's " Marilyn ", is from one of the artists most sought after acclaimed portfolio series. Set against a background of dark pink, this Pop Art portrait is feminine, bold, and iconic. The image is based on Gene Korman's photograph or the starlet, a promotional photo for the 1963 film noir Niagra. The bold coloration of the artwork recalls the saturated hues of the technicolor world in which Marilyn Monroe's career skyrocketed. The result is an inspiring exploration of the symbol of Marilyn Monroe as a Pop icon and cultural figure.
The rare out of print framed Pop Art exhibition poster measures 22 1/2" W X 30 1/4" H X 1" D. It is custom framed with UV protective plexiglass in a Contemporary Modern matte satin finish brushed brass gold tone metal frame molding, with an attached hanging wire on the reverse back side for easy wall installation.
