Description: This set of 4 bread and butter plates is made by Homer Laughlin, and dated 1949. The pattern is called … more This set of 4 bread and butter plates is made by Homer Laughlin, and dated 1949. The pattern is called "Nantucket," and features pink and blue flowers on an off-white body with gold trim around the rim. The mid-century modern design is enhanced by the smooth Eggshell Nautilus shape. The small plates (they would also make great dessert or pie plates) measures 6-1/8 inches wide.

All four plates are in very good condition. There are no chips, cracks, or crazing that I can see, and only light utensil marks from use. The gold trim is slightly worn on some of the edges (see closeup photos of the rims).

The bottom of each plate has a green HLC logo for Homer Laughlin China plus "Eggshell Nautilus | U.S.A. | M 49 N 5."
