- This stunning and very rare 1940's Grosfeld House cabinet is so modernist and current in design and look. It has … more This stunning and very rare 1940's Grosfeld House cabinet is so modernist and current in design and look. It has the original brass hardware and brass and metal grillwork on the doors. The glass shelves were replaced as they were chipped as well as the glass doors. There are 4 drawers at the bottom all they have been also black lacquered on the inside. This is Hollywood Regency meets regency meets modernist. It could be a bar, a cabinet for dishes and or a cabinet for beautiful white pottery. It is extremely rare and we have not ever seen another one. All of the brass hardware was polished. The wood was lacquered black around 12 years ago. The grillwork on the doors was not restored and has some imperfect areas due to age. It will remain as such without restoration. This is a piece de resistance of a cabinet that is glamorous, elegant, chic and beyond fabulous. This is our favorite cabinet. In recap it is fabulous! less
