- Rectangular frame with architectural structure: the central field, consisting of lower mirror zone and upper decorative cartouche, is flanked by … more Rectangular frame with architectural structure: the central field, consisting of lower mirror zone and upper decorative cartouche, is flanked by a pair of fluted pilasters of Corinthian order, supporting an architrave with high frieze zone and widely projecting cornice. A distinctive feature of this mirror is the sculptural elaboration of the pillars also on the sides of the mirror, which enhances its architectural presence. Above the transverse rectangular mirror, bordered with a broad gold molding, is a gold-framed rectangular cartouche depicting an overturned basket with a lush bouquet of flowers, entwined with a garland of flowers and accompanied by rural utensils, on a Neoclassical decorative console. Due to the lushness of the flowers and the addition of the mentioned attributes, this decorative vignette can be interpreted as an allegory of summer. The mirror bears a colored frame in a gray-green typical for France, while the decorative elements and trims are highlighted by gilding.
