"Main Beach" is a moody, colorful and contrasting oil painting by intuitive painter, Monica Shulman. It is named for the beach in East Hampton, New York where Monica has spent a lot of her time exploring and feeling inspired. Main Beach is one of my Monica's favorite places to visit.
This is a vivid and sculptural painting that punctuates Monica's rhythmic, gestural marks with varying shades of purples, pinks, blues, turquoise, greens and yellows layered under black, white and gray tones. "Main Beach" will add depth to any space. This energetic, sculptural painting is inspired by nature, the ocean, the textures of New York beaches and the changing seasons, particularly from winter to spring, in her native Long Island, New York.
This painting is created on a gallery-wrapped canvas that is painted on all four sides. It can be hung vertically or horizontally as the buyer prefers.
Monica has been featured in various publications including Popular Photography, Create magazine, and the Huffington Post. In 2019 she was named "Best Artist" in Westchester by Westchester magazine. Her work has been shown at the American Academy of Arts and Letters in New York City, Photo LA, Art Market Hamptons, PULSE Art Fair, and the New York Mercantile Exchange, among others.
