Description: This important eighteenth-century painting is to be referred to the exquisite production of the Neapolitan school of the first half … more This important eighteenth-century painting is to be referred to the exquisite production of the Neapolitan school of the first half of the eighteenth century. In fact, the splendid workmanship and refined coloring, evidently of the highest level, suggest attribution to a highly talented author working in Naples in the first half of the eighteenth century. The scene takes place entirely in the foreground,where we see a woman with bare breasts irradiated by the blazing sun and surrounded by seasonal fruits. To her left a child with a joyful face carries a bunch of ears of corn on his shoulders(all of these symbols harking back to the summer season). Condition: Very good condition.
