A true example of folk art, the blacksmith who created this piece did so with wonderful form while paying attention to function. This roasting fork would have hung near the open hearth, used to skewer and roast meats and vegetables. As you can see the smith put in wonderful curls design onto each side of the center shaft. Additionally, the shaft has some "twist" decorations. The end-hanging loop is formed with a closed rat tail end loop. It measures 23" and 3.5" wide. No maker's mark. See less
