This elegant Mid Century Modern sofa was realized by the legendary Jules Leleu in France circa 1950. It offers the clean silhouette, attention to detail and timeless (yet perennially modern) aesthetic that discerning collectors of Leleu's designs absolutely adore. The sofa sits on arched conical hind legs- lending the piece a subtle dynamism- and straight front legs realized in a beautiful ebonized walnut. The sofa features three back (and seat) cushions as well as geometric right angled arms that cantilever over the body- a distinctly modernist aspect of the design aesthetic. The cushions have been newly reupholstered in a luxurious smoked pewter velvet. With its clean modernist lines and refined color palate, this piece would be a winning addition to any style of interior from classic Mid Century Modern to contemporary. It has been newly reupholstered and is in excellent vintage condition.
