This automaton features a gilt brass cage housing a songbird. The songbird has retained a few of her feathers over the past several decades and exhibits peaks of her original red color.

On the bottom of the cage you'll find the wind up mechanism that operates the bird as well as the speaker hole from which the song would once have played.

When on the bird comes to life flicking its tail and opening its mouth to sing. The bird is perched on a stand over a green felt base, a small berry spring hangs from the top of the cage.
