This beautiful item has been appraised as a desk made in the Gründerzeit style. The Gründerzeit was a period of great economic growth in Germany and Austria. Due to this great economic growth, there was a great demand for living space in the cities, which made residential blocks with four to six floors with richly decorated facades characteristic of the architecture during the Gründerzeit.
This desk was made in Germany between 1880 and 1900 and is made of mahogany and burr walnut wood.
The desk is put on blocks as the original height is too low for the contemporary height of man.
