Intricately detailed and ornate 3 dimensional carving decorates this piece. The carving includes grape vines and curli-cues around the top drawers, fruit and nuts hanging from a top bow, and stylized dragons or griffins in an almost coat of arms manner on the door panels.

It has a rounded upper skirt, egg and dart lower skirt, claw feet, and beveled panels. The drawers are hand dove-tailed. Incredible workmanship is showed in the doweled construction and the top was designed to allow typical wood shrinkage (high quality and very rare.)

Nice with 5 drawers inside in addition to the 4 drawers on top. The inside shelves have a saw toothed mechanism for adjusting the shelf height.

Width is about 98 1/8 inch. Height is about 39 inch. Depth is about 25 inch.

It is an extremely beautiful and very well made item. This is an original piece not a later reproduction.

Technically this piece comes completely apart to move it up stairs or through narrow hallways. However, it would require a fairly experience antique assembler.
