The design is marked by the rounded lines of the upholstered seat and the angled positioning of the seat on the frame. The seating is thick and comfortable, which is something Ruth is known for. The distinct metal frame in black coated metal creates a beautiful graphic effect in combination with the rounded back.

The chair is in good condition, the interior upholstery is still firm. The alcantara upholstery in blue and red is in reasonable condition, with minor fading.

Theo Ruth an be considered as the pioneer of the designs by Artifort. In 1936 he joined the company as s cabinetmaker. Later in 1939 he became the head of the design and development department.
