Mid-Century Italian Modern "mela" ("apple" in English) ice bucket by Ettore Sottsass for Rinnovel (1953, Italy). Early, large example (there … more Mid-Century Italian Modern "mela" ("apple" in English) ice bucket by Ettore Sottsass for Rinnovel (1953, Italy). Early, large example (there were a few different sizes made, including a much smaller apple, also available) composed of silver anodized aluminum with a rose-gold tinted interior and brass-color stem, which serves as the handle for removing the top.
Aluminum has been newly polished but shows wear (scuffs, one impression, and spots of oxidation/discoloration to the lid, as shown). Overall, good, vintage condition with wear consistent with age and use.
Branded "Made in Italy."
