An unusual gilt wood wall mirror, possibly German, that could be suitable for a variety of locations. The design is composed of boldly delineated scroll forms incorporating a beveled mirrored border. The surface is very good, bright original water gilding. Even the straight frame elements have good detail, carved reeding and acanthus leaves. Back boards covering the mirror have been replaced- mirror plates have age, but may also be later. 18th century with possibly later mirror plate.
