Description: This is truly a rare piece of original French Folk Art. Made by a local artist in the 1950's in … more This is truly a rare piece of original French Folk Art. Made by a local artist in the 1950's in the town of Fougeres France. This is a model of the actual Saint Leonard Church in Fougeres France. The Church was founded in the 12th Century, rebuilt in the 15th and 16th centuries and then enlarged in the 19th century. It is still open for worship and houses many original works of art along with its architectural antiquities. This model was made with all local materials, wood, seeds, and other natural found items. The stained glass windows are a man made material painted to represent the original design. Two lights (one in the tall tower and the other on the lower level), are original but were rewired.
