Cut by hand decoration featuring medallions with hobstars in dotted circles on both sides, fish scale patterns around the neck, floral motifs under the handle and the spout
Circular flattened body with long, tapered neck with sparrow beak lip, on slightly raised circular base
Snapped pontil
Produced by the Royal factory of Glass and Crystal of La Granja (Real Fabrica de Cristales da la Granja), the renown Spanish royal glass manufacturing factory in San Ildefonso, near Segovia. It was established in 1727 by Philip V of Spain and funded by the crown. The Catalan artisan Buenaventura Sit installed a small oven, which manufactured float glass for the windows and mirrors of the Royal Palace of La Granja de San Ildefonso, which was under construction in the 1720's. The wares of the royal factory were exported to the Americas.
