Rare popular furniture from Melle, in the two Sèvres (79).

It consists of solidly associated woods: doors and facades in walnut, sides in cherry.
It opens by four doors, with partial cutouts which differ between the upper pair and that of the bottom. Likewise, where it is a pattern sculpted in a circle that we find on the two upper doors, these are discreet scrolls which decorate the two lower. Each of these doors, equipped with an original lock in operating condition and with its own key, discovers two storage compartments formed by the presence of a ash shelf placed on fixed battens.
This buffet also offers, on a belt, two large drawers with draw buttons.
Note that a thin molding borders each of these openings.
We will also appreciate the Chantourne Basse, the decorations carved with that of the top, itself surmounted by a molded cornice with rounded angles. The central part has three long vertical furrows, hollow in the upper part, they become full halfway up.
This piece of furniture is based on four large feet, curves at the front and straight on the back.
It should be noted that only brass lock entries and 2 cm thick heels on the front are current.
This authentic furniture with interesting dimensions offers an unusual structure for its time and this independence of its four doors gives it an undeniable asset.
