Description: An unusual antique Japanese Satsuma ware ceramic handled water bucket, Teoke, finely decorated with classical "Children Playing" (遊んでいる子供たち, 婴戏图 in … more An unusual antique Japanese Satsuma ware ceramic handled water bucket, Teoke, finely decorated with classical "Children Playing" (遊んでいる子供たち, 婴戏图 in Chinese) motifs among landscape, scholar's objects (side table and books) and various traditional Japanese geometric floriated patterns, all hand-painted in gold and polychrome enamels together with some intricate and beautiful jeweled/raised enamel design
Circa: Late 19th century, Meiji period
Condition: In overall good condition with no damages or repairs, some age-appropriate minor wear and scuffs to the enamel and edges, light discoloration to glaze, some stains and sign of handling
Provenance: from an estate in Westchester County, NY
Dimensions: 4 in. diameter, 7.25 in. high
