This is a vintage Cole-Steel desk chair from the 1950s or 1960s. Considered to be a tanker chair or a propeller chair by some. It has been recovered in high quality Naugahyde brand All American black vinyl with Coats and Clark nylon upholstery thread. Besides replacing the original vinyl this chair is a “survivor” that just needed a cleaning when I found it.
I have refurbished many similar chairs and have to say this one is by far my favorite. The back rest supports the lumbar region perfectly. I have contemplated fully restoring the base, but have decided to keep it as is for now. Please see the photos which show that it is in very good condition.
