This painting is from the Circle Star series exhibition at Steven Wolf Gallery in San Francisco California. It is inspired by the architectural floor plan of Villa Farnese, in Italy. The work comes with the original crate constructed by the artist.
Thomas Akawie (1935 - 2019) was a San Francisco Bay Area artist most famous as a leader of the visionary art movement and as an innovator and teacher in air brush painting. Akawie’s Oeuvre includes explorations in abstract expressionism, pop art, photo realism, magic realism and minimalism. His work was often inspired by spiritual and esoteric ideas.
