The base is woven using rattan and then the feathers are tied in with cord. The hats take about 2-4 hours to make by skilled crafts people in a rural village about 4 hours from the Cameroonian capital Douma. Once made for high priests and chiefs the Juju or Bamileke hat now adorn walls as a contemporary interior accessory in homes, hotels, bars and offices around the world.
