Sumida pottery has often been called by many names - Poo ware, Sumidagawa, Banko, or Asakusa Banko.

The style of applied figures on a surface with flowing glaze was invented about 1890 by the Seto potter Ryosai I, who worked in Tokyo from about 1875 to 1900. This pottery is no longer being made.
Beautiful Antique dark green and brown glazed Sumida Gawa Japanese pottery lidded jar ,comes with Embossed figure of a man on top of lid .
The underside is in maroon red color top brown ,green to black color . according to age is in great condition and shape may have light wear or scratches but not noticeable damage or repair.Please check the photo that’s part of information and detail.
